Updated Press Release: Gish Road Human Remains

PRESS RELEASE - UPDATE ON HUMAN REMAINS LOCATED IN ONALASKA AREA

The Lewis County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the victim whose partial remains were discovered in the 500 block of Gish Rd in Onalaska on Tuesday May 7th, 2024.

In May of 2018 the victim, Paul Snarski, was reported missing from Auburn and is believed to have been murdered at a residence on View Ridge Rd in Onalaska. During the subsequent investigation, part of the victim’s body was recovered in Pierce County and a suspect was arrested. The suspect in Paul Snarski’s death was later acquitted of murder in Lewis County Superior Court.

On Tuesday May 7, 2024, citizens located partial human remains in the 500 block of Gish Rd in Onalaska. The discovery’s location and other factors led investigators to believe the partial human remains were likely associated with the murder and dismemberment of the victim, Paul Snarski.

After the most recent discovery, the property in the 500 block of Gish Rd was searched for additional human remains by Search and Rescue volunteers from King and Lewis Counties.

The murder suspect is currently in prison serving a sentence for a separate crime, and there is no further risk posed to the community.
