Suspect in Custody after Winlock Area Shooting Death

Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday evening in the 400 Block of Meier Road, Winlock.  On 05/23/2018, at approximately 2012 hours, deputies were dispatched to report of a 44 year old male of Winlock being shot by his neighbor.

The initial information provided to deputies via 9-1-1 was the victim had been playing basketball with his juvenile son, when a neighbor pulled into the driveway, brandished a firearm, and fired multiple rounds at the victim.  The victim was struck, and was discovered deceased at the scene by responding personnel.  The son was able to run to safety and alert other family members.

The neighbor, 58 year old Randolph Thomas Graham of Winlock, was located by deputies at his own home, however he would not exit the residence.  Due to the circumstances, Lewis County Regional SWAT was activated, and responded to the scene.  After several hours of attempted negotiations with the suspect, Lewis County Regional SWAT was able to enter the residence and placed Graham in custody at approximately 0100 hours for Murder in the 1st Degree.

An autopsy will be performed, and the Lewis County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name, as well as manner and cause of death, when available.

Due to the nature of the investigation, no further information is being released at this time.  Anyone having possible information on the incident are encouraged to call the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at (360) 748-9286, or Lewis County Communications at (360) 740-1105.
