Search at Mineral Lake for missing boater continues.

Members of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, as well as Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Boating Unit personnel, continue to search Mineral Lake for a missing boater.  On 07/05/17, at about 4 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of a female in a boat along the shoreline of Mineral Lake.  The 49 year old female of Mineral, stated her significant other, Gerald L Harris 54 of Mineral, had been on the boat and was believed to be in the water.  Responding deputies were able to gain the assistance of boaters at the lake and began to check the area.  They also checked Harris’ residence and other locations in Mineral, but Harris could not be located and was entered as a missing person.

Yesterday, 07/06/17, members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Boating Unit conducted additional searches with no results.  Today, 07/07/17, with the assistance of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, the lake is being checked with sonar devices in an attempt to ascertain the location of Harris.  Anyone who may have observed Harris or his significant other on 07/05/17, or having additional information on the incident, are encouraged to call the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at (360) 748-9286, or Lewis County Communications at (360) 740-1105.
