Morton area Death Investigation

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a male located in the Morton area on Saturday.  On 08/11/18, at approximately 1630 hours, Search and Rescue personnel, along with LCSO personnel, were conducting an area search after a motorcycle belonging to a Centralia man was found on a spur road off of Forest Road 73 the previous day.  While searching they were contacted by a friend of the family who advised he had located the deceased male.

Based on the information, the on scene personnel located the deceased and initiated an investigation.  On 08/06/18, an attempt to locate was put out on the owner of the motorcycle, a 37 year old male of Centralia, after his apartment manager advised he had not been seen for a number of days.  An autopsy is pending, and the identity of the decedent will be released by the Lewis County Coroner’s Office once identified per their procedures.

Due to the nature of the investigation, no further information is being released at this time.  Anyone having possible information on the incident are encouraged to call the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at (360) 748-9286, or Lewis County Communications at (360) 740-1105.
