LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO HOST CITIZEN FIREARMS SAFETY CLASSES

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office will host another Citizen Firearms Safety Class on Saturday, March 17th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m, with an additional class anticipated in May or June of 2018.  This free class will be held at the Law and Justice Center in Chehalis.

As part of Sheriff Rob Snaza’ s ongoing commitment to service to the community, and in support of responsible firearms ownership and individuals’ Second Amendment Rights, this training will provide citizens of Lewis County with an opportunity to learn more about basic firearms safety, marksmanship, and laws regarding the use and carry of firearms.

The four-hour training session will culminate with the use of a firearms simulator for attendees to experience realistic split second decision making in the use of deadly force.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older, a resident of Lewis County, and be able to pass a criminal history background check.  Class size is limited, and depending on interest a list will be established for future classes.

Those who are interested in participating should contact Special Services Deputy Justin Kangas at (360) 740-1369 or by e-mailing sheriffevents@lewiscountywa.gov .
