Lewis County Law Enforcement Participates in the 16th Annual National Domestic Violence Warrant Sweep.

Law enforcement personnel with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Officers, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Department of Corrections, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Morton Police Department served 10 warrants yesterday during the 16th Annual National Domestic Violence Warrant Sweep.  The collaborative event was conducted to locate and arrest people with outstanding warrants in the Lewis County area.

During October 17th, 2018, law enforcement personnel assigned to the warrant sweep made 50 service attempts, resulting in 3 felony warrant arrests and 7 misdemeanor arrests.  While the main focus of the sweep was outstanding domestic violence warrants, other non-domestic violence warrants were also attempted.

Sheriff Robert Snaza said, “I often speak of the success of partnerships within our community, and this is no exception.  It is important we hold those accountable who break the law and evade the criminal justice system, and the great work by law enforcement yesterday ensured we are holding those people accountable.”
