Human remains located in Mineral Lake

Detectives are investigating the discovery of human remains located in Mineral Lake yesterday morning.  At approximately 0900 hours on August 9^th, 2017, Sheriff’s Office personnel received a call from two boaters on the lake.  They stated they were fishing, when they observed something floating in the water, and discovered it was human remains.  Sheriff’s Office personnel responded, and with the help of the boaters, were able to bring the remains to shore at a boat launch.

Sheriff’s Office personnel, along with the Lewis County Coroner’s Office, are still investigating the cause and manner of death, as well as attempting to identify the deceased.  They are also looking into the possibility the remains may belong to Gerald L. Harris, a 54 year old male from Mineral, who has been missing from the Mineral Lake area since July 5^th, 2017.
