Burglar of South County Businesses in Custody

A 32 year old Chehalis male is now in custody for a series of business burglaries plaguing southern Lewis County.  Joint investigations involving the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and the Toledo and Winlock Police Departments culminated yesterday when investigators met with Joshua A. Duncan.  Duncan had been arrested shortly after midnight on 08/29/18 by the Chehalis Police Department during an in progress burglary to a church in the 600 block of NW St Helens Ave, Chehalis.

Based on the details of the burglary he was arrested for, and similar appearance with previously obtained surveillance images, investigators spoke to him about four unsolved burglaries occurring to businesses in the Winlock and Toledo areas occurring between 07/26/18 and 08/12/18.  Duncan admitted to his involvement in each of those burglaries, as well as a similar incident in a neighboring county.  As a result he is being referred to the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for additional charges.

“This is another great example of law enforcement within Lewis County working together to solve cases,” said Sheriff Robert Snaza.  “I am proud of the hard work of all those involved, and our ability to resolve this investigation as a team.”
