Joint Narcotic Task Force (JNET) Arrests Drannon Bradley Smyth

During the evening of September 26th, members of JNET, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Enforcement Team, and the U.S. Marshals Service executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Newaukum Golf Drive, in rural Chehalis.  This was the result of an ongoing JNET investigation into Drannon Bradley Smyth, a 23 year old Chehalis resident, street name “Dragon”.  During the investigation JNET personnel learned Smyth was a large scale seller of controlled substances, and was also trading firearms during these transactions, which he could not lawfully possess.

During the service of the search warrant Smyth was arrested for 13 counts Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Pills, and Unlawful Possession of LSD.  His roommate, 30 year old Chehalis resident Sean Anthony Penn, was also arrested for an unrelated warrant out of Thurston County.

Seized during the service of the search warrant were numerous firearms, large amounts of heroin, methamphetamine, and hundreds of prescription pills.  During the investigation, Smyth admitted to purchasing three sports-type cars using either controlled substances, or proceeds of selling controlled substances.  Of the 18 firearms seized by JNET, several have been determined to have been stolen from within Lewis County.

JNET Sergeant Brian Warren said, “This arrest highlights the partnership we have other agencies.  Working together will help us be more effective and focus on drug issues in rural Lewis County.  The Joint Narcotics Task Force will continue to aggressively go after people who choose to be involved in illegal drugs in our communities”.

If anyone has information regarding Smyth’s activities involving the trafficking of controlled substance or stolen firearms, please contact JNET at (360) 330-7680 or (360) 748-9286.
