Vader Chipping Event
Saturday, October 9, 2021 - 9 a.m. to noon
The first annual Autumn Chips for Trails event will take place at McMurphy Park off Annonen Road in Vader from 9 a.m. to Noon on Oct. 9.
The Vader Parks Board, volunteers and city staff will be collecting branches and brush for chipping during this time. The material will be chipped up and spread onto trails of the Vader park.
During the event, Lewis County residents are permitted to drop off brush and branches to be chipped that are no larger than 5 inches in diameter. No trash, leaves, building materials or plastic bags will be accepted.
Organizers will have a team of volunteers available to provide limited pickup service for city of Vader residents unable to transport their material to the event. Vader residents interested in this service are advised to call 360-218-4257 by Oct. 6.

A Department of Ecology grant is providing partial funding to pay for the community recycling events. The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility and Lawn & Order are assisting in the event. Anyone interested in volunteering at the event may call 360-218-4257.
