Stop by Repair & Sustainability Fair at Community Garage Sale
Saturday, October 10, 2026 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you have something around your home that needs to be fixed, don't throw it out and bury it in the landfill forever. Bring it to this WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter event in Centralia on Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds Community Events Building during the Fall Garage Sale & Swap Meet.
Volunteers will be on hand to do their best to make the repairs and teach you how to do it in the process. Some community members will also be on-site offering demonstrations, so you can learn and improve your knowledge as a do-it-yourselfer.
Here are some examples of items you can bring to the event:
Bikes; air mattresses; lawn mowers; electric items, such as lamps and fans; clothing, curtains, and other textiles in need of minor repairs; tools that need sharpening; furniture
Repairs will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The fixer volunteers will try their best to help you repair the item, or give you recommendations on next steps, but there are no guarantees.
There will also be a Stuff Swap area of gently used items (feel free to bring something to share or shop for something you might need) and information booths.
These events are funded in part by a Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology.
