Kids Repair & Sustainability Fair

Saturday, January 30, 2027 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Have a broken toy, a bicycle that needs a little TLC, a favorite stuffed animal with a tear, or a small appliance that's seen better days?

Families and community members to the Kids Repair & Sustainability Fair, a completely FREE community event celebrating repair, reuse, resourcefulness, and hands-on learning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Chehalis Scout Lodge, 278 SE Adams Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532.

Our skilled repair volunteers will be ready to help give your broken, worn, or well-loved items a new life! They'll try their best to fix:

  • Toys and stuffed animals
  • Bicycles
  • Books
  • Clothing and bags
  • Small appliances and housewares
  • Small electronics
  • And more!

Whether it's a loose bicycle chain, a ripped seam, a broken toy, or something that just needs a little attention, we'd love to help you explore whether it can be repaired instead of replaced!

  • MORE THAN JUST REPAIRS!

This isn't just an opportunity to get something fixed. It's a chance for kids and families to discover the value of taking care of what we already have!

  • LEARN NEW SKILLS: Watch demonstrations, ask questions, and discover how everyday items work — and how to care for them.
  • HELP OUR PLANET: Learn how repairing and reusing items reduces waste, conserves resources, and keeps useful things out of the landfill.
  • HANDS-ON FUN: Explore interactive displays and kid-friendly activities focused on repair, reuse, conservation, and sustainability.
  • SAVE MONEY: Discover how a little maintenance, creativity, and know-how can extend the life of the things your family already owns.

ALL AGES WELCOME! While we're putting a special emphasis on kids and youth, this event is for the whole community!

  • A QUICK NOTE ABOUT REPAIRS: Repair assistance is completely free! Repairs depend on the complexity of the item, available supplies, and volunteer capacity. We can't guarantee every item can be fixed, but our volunteers will do their best to help!
