Hearing on Proposed Rate Increases at Lewis County Transfer Stations

Monday, March 25, 2024 - 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.


The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 will hold a public hearing on or after 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, in the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners' hearing room at the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis, WA 98532. The public hearing is to receive public testimony on the proposal of the following rate increases for certain materials accepted at transfer stations operated by Lewis County. The proposed increases:

  • *$120/ton with a minimum fee set at $35 for 580 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax) for municipal solid waste
  • *$140/ton with a minimum fee set at $35 for 500 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax for bulky waste
  • *$100/ton with a minimum fee set at $15 for 300 pounds or less for grass clippings, leaves and non-chippable yard waste

*The above proposed rates will be rounded using standard rounding rules.

  • $30 each for refrigerated appliances (refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units)
  • $10 each for passenger or light truck tires with rims or without rims
