Lewis County Disposal District Schedules Public Hearing on Transfer Station Rate Increases on or after 2 p.m.

The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 will hold a public hearing on or after 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners' hearing room at the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis, WA 98532. Please click here for the Notice of Public Hearing. The public hearing is to receive public testimony on the proposal of the following rate increases for certain materials accepted at transfer stations operated by Lewis County. The proposed increases:

  • $100/ton with a minimum fee set at $15 for 280 pounds ($14.46 plus $.54 Refuse Tax of 3.6%) for municipal solid waste
  • $120/ton with a minimum fee set at $15 for 240 pounds ($14.46 plus $.54 Refuse Tax of 3.6%) for bulky waste
  • $90/ton with a minimum fee set at $10 for 220 pounds for grass clippings, leaves and non-chippable yard waste
  • $60/ton with a minimum fee set at $10 for 320 pounds for chippable yard waste, such as tree branches
  • $5 for passenger or light truck tires with rims or without rims
