Community Recycle Event today at old Meskill Drop Box
Saturday, November 9, 2024 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Community Recycle Event will be at the old Meskill Drop Box between Chehalis and Pe Ell from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The turnoff for the event will be on the opposite side off Highway 6 near its intersection with the western end of River Road. Watch for signs.
Residential customers can drop off the following items for proper disposal or recycling:
Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or leftover cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals. Please be prepared to leaves your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events. Limits for these events are 5 gallons motor oil, 5 gallons antifreeze, 5 gallons cooking oil, and no containers larger than 5 gallons.
Television & Computer Recycling: Residents may drop off televisions, computer monitors, or CPUs for recycling. There is a limit of two items per household. This event cannot accept projection televisions, console televisions or televisions larger than 42 inches.
Fluorescent Light Recycling: Residents may drop off up to 10 fluorescent lights to be recycled.
Scrap Metal Recycling: Residents may drop off scrap metal and household appliances. Make sure all fluids are drained from motors.
Yard Waste Collection: Residents may drop off grass clippings, leaves, branches, garden spoils in a 40-yard container. This material will be hauled away for composting. No garbage, recycling, dirt, or noxious weeds may be dropped off in the container.
The LeMay Sensitive Document Shredding will be at the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility.
