Recycle appliances, scrap metal, fluorescent lights and more

Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: At the old Meskill Drop Box, 3127 State Route 6, west of Chehalis, near Doty. Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or leftover cleaners, aerosol cans, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals. Please be prepared to leave your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events. Limits for these events are 5 gallons motor oil, 5 gallons antifreeze, 5 gallons cooking oil, and no containers larger than 5 gallons. No paint or PaintCare items (Please check PaintCare.org for PaintCare.org items and locations for drop off). Television & Computer Recycling: Residents may drop off televisions, computer monitors, or CPUs for recycling. There is a limit of two items per household. This event cannot accept projection televisions, console televisions or non-flat screen televisions larger than 42 inches. Fluorescent Light Recycling: Residents may drop off up to 10 fluorescent lights to be recycled. Yard Waste Collection: Residents may drop off grass clippings, leaves, branches, garden spoils in a 40-yard container. This material will be hauled away for composting. No garbage, recycling, dirt, or noxious weeds may be dropped off in the container. Scrap Metal & Appliance Recycling: Residents may drop off scrap metal and household appliances. There is a limit of two large household appliances (freezers, refrigerators, air conditioning units, washers, dryers, stoves, hot water heaters, dish washers). Make sure all fluids are drained from motors. Customers must be prepared to unload their own televisions, computers, scrap metal, appliances, and yard waste. Scrap metal and non-refrigerated appliances must be loaded into a 40-yard scrap metal container; yard waste must be unloaded into a 40-yard container for organic materials. Once the containers are full for a particular commodity, they will be closed and that part of the recycling program will end.
