Artists: Turn in your upcycled creations!
Thursday, August 6, 2026 - 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Entries for the Upcycled Art Contest at this year's Southwest Washington Fair will be accepted from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 7. Please bring entries to the Expo Hall.
Prizes will be awarded in five categories: Pee-Wee – preschool and younger; Elementary School – K-5th grade; Middle School – 6-8th grade; High School – 9-12th grade; adult – age 18 and older. Judging will be done by a panel of community volunteers and fairgoers.
Entry forms will be available during drop-off. Here is the information needed when filling out the entry form:
- Short explanation regarding the artwork:
- Title of artwork
- Materials reused/repurposed
- Statement about why recycling and repurposing items is important
- How were you inspired to create this piece of art
- For high school entrants and younger, artists name and grade level completed, city/community you live in. Contact number on entry form.
- For adult entrants, name and community you live in. Contact number on entry form.
Entries must be picked up by 8:30 p.m. on the last day of the SWW Fair, Sunday, Aug. 16.
This contest is a partnership between the WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers, WSU Extension, Lewis County Solid Waste Utility, and the Southwest Washington Fair.
