Call for Citizen Scientists. Learn to Detect Invasive Plant Species

A volunteer effort to learn and detect invasive plants is underway by the Pacific North West Invasive Plant Council.  A training for citizens will take place Thursday June 29th from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Old Credit Union Building, 156 NW Chehalis Ave., Chehalis, WA.

The training will cover identification of plants, methods of manual control, along with how to conduct a survey.  The work will support our local public lands including the National Forest and National Parks to document emerging invasive plant populations.  The program is open to those who recreate or work on public lands in addition to folks interested in wanting to learn more about invasive plants.

The program is co-sponsored by: Cowlitz Valley Ranger District, Pacific Northwest Invasive Plant Council, and the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board.
