New rates go into effect at Lewis County transfer stations
Monday, July 1, 2024 - 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 approved increases to certain fees following a March 25, 2024, public hearing. The new fees for Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton will go into effect July 1, 2024.
- *$120/ton with a minimum fee set at $20 for 340 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax) for municipal solid waste
- *$140/ton with a minimum fee set at $35 for 500 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax for bulky waste
- *$100/ton with a minimum fee set at $15 for 300 pounds or less for grass clippings, leaves and non-chippable yard waste
*The above proposed rates will be rounded using standard rounding rules.
- $30 each for refrigerated appliances (refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units)
- $10 each for passenger or light truck tires with rims or without rims
