Canceled: Recycling and Hazardous Waste Workshop; Transfer Station Tour

Slowing the Waste Stream with the "3-Rs" at 9 a.m.: Learn practical ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle to help minimize the amount of solid waste that gets buried in our landfills. Find out how much waste Lewis County residents and businesses threw away in 2022, some history of solid waste issues in the county and state, and special events coming up.
Dealing with Hazardous Waste at 10 a.m.: Learn how to safely store and dispose of hazardous household chemicals in the home, shop, and garden. Discover simple and safe alternatives to using dangerous chemicals for cleaning, pest control and other applications. Resources will be shared about local and state programs, Mr. Yuk, and extended producer responsibility programs.
After the workshops, participants will take a tour of the Lewis County transfer station in Centralia. Please dress for the weather!
