Final Day for Free Christmas Tree Recycling in Morton

Saturday, January 6, 2024 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Christmas trees, holiday lights, cardboard shipping boxes, and wrapping paper can be dropped off for free at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy. 12, just east of Morton, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 6, Mondays through Saturdays, except on the New Year's Day Holiday. Check in with the scale house for directions on where to drop off the holiday items for recycling. Artificial, flocked, or decorated trees will need to go in the garbage, where regular fees apply ($15 minimum fee for 280 pounds or less). After this date, holiday lights, cardboard shipping boxes, and leftover wrapping paper can be recycled in the appropriate containers in the recycling area for free, or recycled in your curbside recycling container.
