What services does the Public Health Department offer?
The Public Health Department is divided into four divisions:
1) Public Health offers birth certificates for people born in Washington, death certificates on people who have passed within the last 2 months in Lewis County, WIC program, Veterans Relief Fund, and prevention/assessment and preparedness.
2) Environmental Health offers water testing, food permits, temporary food permits, onsite sewage inspection, solid/hazardous waste inspections, code enforcement, and Humane Officer services.
3) Social Services offers housing programs, developmental disabilities support, mental health education, and chemical dependency education.
4) Animal Shelter offers animals for adoption.
