Board Seeks Applications for use of Hotel/Motel Lodging Tax

The application process expired on August 16th

The Board of County Commissioners is currently accepting applications for use of hotel/motel lodging tax funds for the 2014 budget year from organizations whose programs or activities promote tourism in the unincorporated Lewis County area.

"Tourism promotion" means “activities, operations, and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; developing strategies to expand tourism; operating tourism promotion agencies; and funding the 32 marketing of or the operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists” (as passed by Washington Legislation, 2013).

Applications (original & 9 copies) are due by 4:30 p.m. on August 16, 2013, in the Budget Office, Rm. 209; 351 NW North St. Chehalis, WA, no late applications will be accepted.

There will be an orientation class available for all new applicants on Wednesday, August 28th at 11:00 am in the BOCC meeting room located on the 2nd floor of the Historic Courthouse. Please contact Becky Sisson at (360) 740-1198 by August 16th, 2013 if you would like to attend.
