County seeks applicants for Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board
The Lewis County Board of Health (BOH) is accepting applications from Lewis County residents interested in serving on the Public Health & Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Board. The PHSS advisory board advises the BOH on matters related to public health, environmental health and social services. Advisory Board members provide community perspective, professional knowledge, and lived experience to help inform local programs, policies, and services.
The BOH is currently seeking an applicant to fill the Environmental Health seat. This position is intended to provide perspective on issues related to the natural and built environments and their connection to community health. Any Lewis County resident with an interest in public health and environmental health is encouraged to apply. The appointment will fill an existing vacancy for a term ending December 31, 2026. The member may be eligible for reappointment by the Board of Health following completion of the current term.
The PHSS Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Board of County Commissioners’ Hearing Room at the Lewis County Historic Courthouse, 351 NW North Street in Chehalis. A virtual attendance option is also available.
Applications must be received by 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Applications are available at https://lewiscountywa.gov/departments/public-health. Completed applications may be submitted by email to BOH@lewiscountywa.gov. Applications will be presented to the Board of Health for consideration at its October 12, 2026, meeting.
