County seeks applicants for Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board

The Lewis County Board of Health is accepting applications for a volunteer position on the Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board. This thirteen-member board gives residents the opportunity to help guide local conversations around community health, environmental health, behavioral health, housing, human services, and other issues that affect individuals and families across Lewis County.

The current opening is for the Medical Provider position. This position is open to any Lewis County resident with an interest in public health and social services who has experience as a licensed health care provider. The appointment will fill an existing vacancy with a term expiring December 31, 2028.

“Medical providers see firsthand the challenges facing individuals and families in our community,” said Meja Handlen, PHSS Director. “This is an opportunity to bring that experience to the table.”

The Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Board of County Commissioners’ Hearing Room in the Lewis County Historic Courthouse, located at 351 Northwest North Street in Chehalis. Meetings can also be attended virtually.

Applications are due by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Interested individuals can download an application and then email the completed form to BOH@lewiscountywa.gov. Applications will be presented to the BOH at its July 13, 2026, meeting.
