County seeks applicants for Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board
The Lewis County Board of Health (BOH) is seeking Lewis County residents interested in serving on the Public Health & Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Board, a volunteer board that advises the BOH on issues affecting community health, environmental health, and social services.
The thirteen-member board provides a unique opportunity for community members to share their experience and help shape decisions that affect public health and social services across Lewis County. Advisory Board members bring lived experience and professional expertise to inform plans and programs that impact the health and well-being of local residents.
The BOH is accepting applications to fill four open positions representing the following:
- Tribal member
- First responder
- Law enforcement
- At-large representative: Open to any qualified Lewis County resident with lived experience, professional background, or interest in PHSS Advisory Board work
Members are appointed by the Board of Health and generally serve three-year terms beginning April 2, 2026. The law enforcement and at-large positions are vacancy fills, with terms expiring December 31, 2027.
The Advisory Board meets monthly at 4:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month in the Board of County Commissioners Hearing Room at the Lewis County Historic Courthouse, 351 N.W. North Street in Chehalis.
Applications are due by 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Interested individuals can download an application and then email the completed form to BOH@lewiscountywa.gov. Applications will be presented to the BOH at its March 9, 2026, meeting.
