LEWIS COUNTY JUVENILE COURTThe Truancy Program is available for youth and parents who are not currently in compliance with the Washington State Compulsory School Attendance laws. Tools, Treasures & Treats!
Plan to attend Tools, Treasures & Treats, the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library. The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia. Donated tools will be for sale as well as items baked by local volunteers. On Oct. 11, a cider press event will take place. Personal Property Personal property's primary characteristic is its mobility. It includes machinery, equipment and furniture associated with commercial, industrial or agricultural enterprises. Business inventories are exempt from property tax.Everyone who uses personal property in a business must complete a personal property affidavit by April 30 each year per RCW 84.40.185, RCW 84.40.190, and WAC 458-12-060. The affidavit must list the taxable property by category, as well as its cost and acquisition date. The assessor uses the affidavit to value personal property for taxes due the following year. LEWIS COUNTY VOLUNTEER GAL PROGRAMThe Lewis County Volunteer Guardian ad Litem Program (GAL) trains volunteers to be Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children going through dependency court. These volunteers speak in court on the child’s behalf, representing the best interests of the child, and relaying the child’s wishes to the judge. Bail Information The Lewis County Jail accepts bail on behalf of the court having jurisdiction over the charge an individual is booked on. The amount and type of bail is determined by the court. Posting Bail - Cash Bail Cash bail is accepted 24 hours a day. Cash may be placed in the kiosk in the main lobby during normal business hours and the release lobby after business hours.
