The Veterans Advisory Board is held the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am in the Lower Level BOCC Room of the Lewis County Historic Courthouse. Lewis County is working with cities and communities to offer free recycling events and opportunities to properly dispose of certain materials. Please see the Schedule of Events for 2026 listed below.The events are offered to Lewis County residents only, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If some recycling containers fill up on the day of the event, that particular recycling opportunity may be closed due to storage and space limitations. Passport Applications
The Lewis County Clerk's Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. Passport applications may be submitted, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday.We will attempt to process passport applications for everyone that comes into the office during the hours listed above, but the Clerk's statutory duties take precedence. Municipal Solid Waste (garbage): $120 per ton ($20.00 minimum for 340 pounds or less). A 3.6 percent refuse tax is added to each transaction. The fees are rounded using standard rounding rules.
