School
The Chehalis School District operates a full-time, in-house program for youth. The program is geared to help them stay on track with a key focus on the youth/student's need.All detained youth are required to attend school Monday through Friday and can receive credits for completed classes while in custody.We provide school year round with the acceptation of a three-week summer break in August.Youth that have dropped out of school or are in alternative programs have the chance to work towards their GED or high school equivalence while in custody.

Phalaris arundinacea Reed Canarygrass - A highly variable perennial plant, with rhizomes. Grows 3-6 feet in height.Leaves: Leaf blades are flat and smooth. The leaf has a wide connecting point to the stem.Flowers: Flowers bloom from June-July. Densely clustered flowers in panicles. 3 florets per spikelet and only one fertile spikelet. Flowers start out green-purple and change to tan/brown overtime.Habitat: Usually grows where ground is at least somewhat saturated during growing season. Antifreeze can be recycled at Hazo Hut today until 3 p.m.
Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, up to five gallons of antifreeze, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hazo Hut is closing early today because of the predicted storm. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open.
