Public Records Request Policy

Lewis County NOW accepts new requests via the Gov QA portal. To initiate a new request click on "Submit a Records Request."

Requests can also be submitted by completing the Lewis County Public Disclosure Request Form and present to the PDR Manager, Monday – Friday 8AM to 5PM. You may also mail the completed form to: Lewis County Public Disclosure Manager, 351 NW North Street, Basement Room 023, Chehalis, WA 98532; via Email or Fax to (360) 740-1494.

Lewis County utilizes a web-based Records Center, below, for tracking and delivery of records requests. Click "View My Requests" to login.

Many requests for inspection or copying of public records can be completed by the close of the next business day following the day the request is made. If your request is not complicated and the record readily available, it may be processed at the time it is received. In some circumstances the processing of your request or an official response to your request may take up to five (5) business days.

NOTE: The Public Disclosure Act is for the purpose of providing existing documentation or records, not for the purpose of gathering, sorting and/or creating new documentation. General questions specific to certain divisions/sections should be directed to appropriate personnel.
