    The LCCO employs Deputy Coroners who respond to locations where deaths have occurred in order to conduct medicolegal death investigations. Deputy Coroners are not law enforcement personnel but do work very closely in conducting investigations with all of the law enforcement agencies in the county. The Deputy Coroner position is classified as "extra help" and they work from home on call. When they receive a call they respond to the location and they get paid for the hours they work on the investigation. These can range from 2-3 hours for a natural and have run up to 6-10 hours on …
