Lewis County Technical Rescue Team In 2014, partnerships were made to form the Lewis County Technical Rescue Team. This team is comprised of the following departments:Lewis County Sheriff's OfficeChehalis Fire DepartmentLewis County Fire District 6Lewis County Fire District 15Lewis County Fire District 2This multi-agency technical rescue team services all 2,436 square miles of Lewis County. The team operates with and maintains a cache of specialized equipment centered in Lewis County. This equipment includes, ropes and vital rope rescue hardware, inflatable kayaks, inflatable boats, and various other technical tools for serving the varying landscapes of Lewis County. LEWIS COUNTY VOLUNTEER GAL PROGRAMThe Lewis County Volunteer Guardian ad Litem Program (GAL) trains volunteers to be Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children going through dependency court. These volunteers speak in court on the child’s behalf, representing the best interests of the child, and relaying the child’s wishes to the judge.
