Commercial Vehicle Enforcement
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responsibilities include:Commercial enforcement throughout the county.Coordinating training on CDL issues and keeping records to comply with federal code reference Medical Cards and Driver Abstracts.Assisting the Road Maintenance Supervisors with Haz-Mat issues and any other issues that they need assistance with.Represents the Sheriff Office on the Code Enforcement committee. Scrap Metal & Tool Recycling Event in Winlock (5/22)
Residents may drop off scrap metal and household appliances, such as washers, dryers, hot water heaters, dish washers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers. This event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old Winlock Drop Box, 1105 Winlock-Vader Road, Winlock, WA 98596. Make sure all fluids are drained from motors.The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers will also be accepting gently used tools for reuse in their future MRC Tool Bucket Tool Lending Library.Questions, please call 360-740-1451 or email swu@lewiscountywa.gov.

Release Information
Juveniles can only be released to their parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian is unable to pick up the juvenile upon release, there must be prior approval from the juvenile’s Probation Officer.The parent/guardian must provide proper identification prior to the juvenile’s release.*Medication will only be released to the parent/guardian.If a parent/guardian refuses to pick up the juvenile from Juvenile Detention, the Juvenile Court staff will notify the local law enforcement agency and Child Protective Services (CPS) to report abandonment.

Design
The Engineering Design Section develops roadway designs using local and state guidelines required for traffic volume, terrain, design speed, safety features, storm water runoff, and environmental concerns. Design production may be handled in-house or by contractors. Designs for new bridges are contracted to a structural engineer. Once the designs are complete, staff members help prepare contract specifications for open and competitive bidding by road and bridge construction companies. Inspection of contractors' construction operation are also handled by the staff from the Design, Construction, and Survey Sections.
