Weed Identification The most common question we get: "What's this weed?"We love this question, but do ask that you provide us with a good, representative sample, or even a series of photographs of the weed you are concerned about. Samples that include flowers or fruit are often essential for positive identification. Photos should include both close-up, detailed and high-resolution pictures of the stem, nodes, flowers or fruits, as well as pictures taken further back to see the overall shape and size of the plant. Aquatic & Riparian Noxious Weeds
Aquatic weeds can be emerged, submerged or floating. An emerging plant is rooted underwater and has a structure emerging beyond the surface of the water (often on a stem, for flowers to be pollinated). A submerged aquatic plant exists entirely (or almost entirely) under the surface of the water (it may grow to touch the surface or produce near-surface flowers, such as Brazilian Elodea), and a floating plant will have roots in the underwater sediment but be attached to a leaf "floating" on the surface of the water.Riparian weeds grow along the banks of a waterway extending along the edge …

Road Maintenance
The Lewis County Road Maintenance Division is responsible for providing cost effective and safe travel over the 1,053 miles of county roadway. To accomplish this, the division has five Road Maintenance area shops, a vegetation & guardrail program, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. Each maintenance area has an appropriate number of personnel and equipment assigned to handle the routine road maintenance, repairs, and storm response duties and responsibilities in their area.
