    HOME IMPROVEMENT EXEMPTION: Physical improvement to a detached single family dwelling may be exempt from taxation for the three assessment years subsequent to the completion of the improvement, up to 30% of the value of the original structure; the home improvement exemption may be claimed only once in a five year period.     Credit Cards Now Accepted in the Lewis County Permit Center Lewis County prides itself on keeping the customer's needs in sight. Requests to facilitate payment for permitting services with a credit card is now a reality! This recent change in process is another component of the Lewis County Process Improvement Initiative.
