Motor Oil and Antifreeze Recycling Customers bringing oil to the Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, are only be permitted to drop off motor oil and antifreeze on Wednesdays and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., when the Hazo Hut is open. Each customer will be permitted to drop off 5 gallons of motor oil during these times. RCW 70A.224.030 limits each household to depositing 5 gallons of motor oil each day. MANDATORY BOATING SAFETY EDUCATION CLASS OFFERED
Mandatory Boating Safety Education became a reality for Washington Boaters starting January of 2008. Boaters under the age of 26 years old are now required to possess a valid boating safety card when operating a vessel with a motor of 15 horsepower or greater. Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Safety Education class on Saturday, June 5th. Lewis County Assessor Ross Nielson. CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Assessor’s Office has mailed property revaluation notices for taxes owed in 2024. Some values have increased, some have lowered, depending on areas and other factors. The notices will be representing property value as of January 1, 2023.Lewis County Assessor Ross Nielson says his office has the responsibility to determine the value of all taxable real and personal property within the county. PRESS RELEASE - UPDATE ON HUMAN REMAINS LOCATED IN ONALASKA AREA The Lewis County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the victim whose partial remains were discovered in the 500 block of Gish Rd in Onalaska on Tuesday May 7th, 2024. In May of 2018 the victim, Paul Snarski, was reported missing from Auburn and is believed to have been murdered at a residence on View Ridge Rd in Onalaska. During the subsequent investigation, part of the victim’s body was recovered in Pierce County and a suspect was arrested. The suspect in Paul Snarski’s death was later acquitted of …
