Weed Board Vacancy
Contribute to the operations, safety, and sustainability of the County’s Noxious Weed Control Board. The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board has a vacancy on its five members Board. The vacancy occurs in weed district 4 which includes the communities of Mossyrock, Onalaska and Salkum. Duties of the Board include adoption of the County Weed list and providing direction for Weed Board programs. The Board positions are four-year terms that shall be filled by a person engaged in agricultural practices. Noxious Weed Control Board positions are non-paid, volunteer positions. New rates go into effect at Lewis County transfer stations
The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 approved increases to certain fees following a March 25, 2024, public hearing. The new fees for Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton will go into effect July 1, 2024.*$120/ton with a minimum fee set at $20 for 340 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax) for municipal solid waste*$140/ton with a minimum fee set at $35 for 500 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax for bulky waste*$100/ton with a minimum fee set at $15 for 300 pounds or less for grass clippings, …
