    Counsel/Participants/Staff:As you may have heard on the news, Lewis County is one of several counties in Washington State considered high-risk for Covid-19. The CDC recommends people wear masks in indoor public spaces when the rating is listed as high. As a measure prior to suspending jury trials once again, the Lewis County Superior Court Judges are strongly encouraging masking in Superior Court effective Monday, July 11, 2022.   4. Lewis County Planning Commission discusses RV parks, campgrounds and the Packwood Subarea Plan

    Community Development is updating the rules for new RV parks and campgrounds. The Planning Commission will hold a workshop 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, where staff will present the changes.   6. 11-Year-Old Tacoma Boy Drowns in Cowlitz River, Randle

    On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:58 a.m., Lewis County deputies and members of the Swift Water Rescue Team responded to the 200 block of Burton Creek Road in Randle, Washington, in reference to a reported drowning. Deputies learned that an 11-year-old boy, who was wearing his life jacket, had been paddleboarding with his father in the Cowlitz River near Carr Road when he struck a logjam and fell off the paddleboard.     Washington State Noxious Weed Lists Every year, the Washington State Weed Board adopts a noxious weed list, which goes into effect on the first of January. In the following months, meaning the early months of each year, the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board adopts its own, county-level, weed list.
