Covid - Masking Strongly Encouraged 7/11/22

Counsel/Participants/Staff:

As you may have heard on the news, Lewis County is one of several counties in Washington State considered high-risk for Covid-19. The CDC recommends people wear masks in indoor public spaces when the rating is listed as high. As a measure prior to suspending jury trials once again, the Lewis County Superior Court Judges are strongly encouraging masking in Superior Court effective Monday, July 11, 2022. The rating may fluctuate from county to county and day to day so the court will make adjustments as needed to this recommendation. If the juror Covid-19 infection rate increases, we may need to implement further restrictions.

We will have masks available on the 4th Floor/Superior Court and the lobby of the Law and Justice Building.

Additionally, effective July 11, 2022, we will be reverting back to webex appearances for individuals with court dates who are currently housed in the Lewis County jail with some exceptions – such as trials.

Thank you for your cooperation.
