    In the United States, a typical family of four throws away an estimated $3,000 in groceries each year. Americans throw away approximately 325 pounds of food per person each year. Organics is the largest category of materials thrown away in landfills in Washington state.     Plan to attend Tools, Treasures & Treats, the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library. The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia.
