Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update

Lewis County 2045 Logo

Beginning July 2023, Lewis County and all cities in the county are required by the Washington State Growth Management Act to update their comprehensive plans. Lewis County is coordinating this effort through the Planned Growth Committee. Updates will include changes to the zoning map and development regulations. The Comprehensive Plan sets goals and policies that impact all of Lewis County. The plan includes goals for housing, transportation, economic development, services (e.g., fire districts), land use and zoning, agriculture and forestry, recreation and the environment. The updates must be completed by December 2025.

Starting on April 8, Lewis County Planning Commission will hold three public hearings on the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update and associated changes to zoning designations. The first hearing on April 8 will focus on the Packwood Subarea Plan. The second hearing on April 22 will focus on the rest of the Comprehensive Plan. The third hearing on May 7 will focus on the Onalaska Subarea Plan. Testimony on all topics may be provided to mindy.brooks@lewiscountywa.gov starting on March 5 and ending on May 7. Testimony provided to-date can be found here. For more information about the hearings, including how to attend by Zoom, please visit the Community Development Event Calendar and choose the meeting date
