Special Event Permit
Overview
In 2015, Lewis County adopted Chapter 5.15 LCC that addresses music festivals. The requirements do not currently address other festivals, such as renaissance fairs, or large-scale events, such as the Packwood Flea Market. These large events can have impacts on public roads, causing traffic congestion and impact on emergency services, and can impact public health if there are not adequate bathrooms, handwashing stations and garbage services. The goal of the code update is to support community events while protecting public health and safety. Note – Locations that are already permitted for events, such as granges and community centers, will be exempt from the requirements.
