Residents can drop off unwanted chemicals at Hazo Hut
Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. is open today. Each household can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment.

Collaboration in the face of Rapid Growth
A group of local governments—the City of Chehalis, the Port of Chehalis, Twin Transit, and Lewis County—are collaborating to reckon with the rapid growth expected in south Chehalis and its adjacent urban growth area (UGA). In response to media inquiries, the following statement is provided: Since becoming Sheriff in 2005, my Office has worked diligently to address all legitimate concerns and information brought to our attention regarding the Ronda Reynolds investigation. My Office has spent considerable time and effort in evaluating, investigating and reviewing all information, both new and old, surrounding the Ronda Reynolds case. Effective October 1, 2019, the Lewis County Treasurer’s Office is modifying our hours for the processing of property transfers. While our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 – 4:30, we will no longer process property transfers after 4:00 p.m.The change in hours will ensure the ability of the Treasurer’s Office to thoroughly review and process real estate transactions and to secure sufficient time to record the documents prior to the Auditor’s Office closing time of 4:30 p.m.Our office will remain open until 4:30 p.m. to process all other transactions.We understand that this may cause some frustration for those …
