In the United States, a typical family of four throws away an estimated $3,000 in groceries each year. Americans throw away approximately 325 pounds of food per person each year. Organics is the largest category of materials thrown away in landfills in Washington state. Spring Repair & Sustainability Fair
Repair & Sustainability Fair: The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) volunteers are teaming up with Centralia College, the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility and others in the community to offer the Repair & Sustainability Fair to the area residents. It will be located in the SWFT Centralia at Centralia College at 807 W. Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event concludes on Sunday! Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees.
