The Special Services Bureau consists of an Administrative Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Property & Evidence Manager, Detectives, and Support Technicians.     We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of LCSO K-9 Axel, who served our community from February 2013 until his retirement in August of 2021.Over the course of his career, K-9 Axel and his handler, now-Chief Rick Van Wyck, are credited with the successful capture of 39 suspects and the location of 117 articles of evidence and/or stolen property, as well as the discovery of 397.3 pounds of street drugs and over 1,600 Oxycodone pills, with a total value of over four million dollars.K-9 Axel passed away at home peacefully while surrounded by the Van Wyck family, on August …
