The Public Works Department procures services, equipment, and materials in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations. The method used to select a provider depends upon the amount of the purchase, the source of the funding, and the nature of the project, among other things.To expedite this process and encourage competition in our market, the department has converted it's solicitation management to OpenGov and our vendor roster management to MRSC Rosters. Traffic Engineering & Control
The Traffic Division is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic on the county road network.Call (360) 740-1305 to Report Missing, Damaged, or Vandalized Signs or call 911 after hours.The Traffic Engineering Section investigates the existing conditions, models conditions and alternate scenarios, and recommends solutions - often by use of appropriate traffic control devices. The Traffic Control Section is responsible for the creation, installation, and maintenance of the traffic control devices.To protect the traveling public, the Traffic Control Section maintains a 24 hour callout response to ensure all stop sign and other traffic control devices are installed …

Segregation Mapping
The Lewis County Segregation/Mapping processes recorded deeds and other conveyance instruments for real property to verify recorded legal descriptions, create, segregate and combine tax parcels. The County Geographic Information System (GIS) database is updated and kept at a current status. The Department updates ownership on all real estate transfers. The method of acquiring title is determined, ownership and legal descriptions are verified, and land area computed when necessary.
