    SPECIAL SERVICES BUREAU – CHIEF GABRIEL FRASE The Special Services Bureau encompasses the Records, Civil, Investigations, and Property and Evidence Divisions for the office. The Special Services Bureau consists of an Administrative Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Property & Evidence Manager, Detectives, and Support Technicians. RECORDS DIVISION: The Records Division is under the direct supervision of the Administrative Sergeant and consists of eight Support Technicians. The division is responsible for the entry and maintenance of records generated by Operations Bureau and Special Services Bureau employees.     Juveniles can only be released to their parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian is unable to pick up the juvenile upon release, there must be prior approval from the juvenile’s Probation Officer.The parent/guardian must provide proper identification prior to the juvenile’s release.*Medication will only be released to the parent/guardian.If a parent/guardian refuses to pick up the juvenile from Juvenile Detention, the Juvenile Court staff will notify the local law enforcement agency and Child Protective Services (CPS) to report abandonment.

    The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation.     Diversion is an option to deal with a first or a minor offense a youth has committed where they wish to take responsibility for their action and make amends. They do not have to go to court or go before a judge. A meeting would be set up with a probation officer to provide an opportunity for youth to sign a diversion agreement. The diversion agreement can require the juvenile to complete community service, counseling, classes, and/or restitution to name a few.
