Tire Recycling & Community Litter Clean-up Event in Packwood
Free tire recycling, along with a community litter clean-up event, will be offered in Packwood on Friday and Saturday.Passenger car and light truck tires will be accepted for free recycling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25 at the Packwood Community Hall, 12935 US-12 Highway, thanks for a special tire amnesty grant from the Department of Ecology awarded to the Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility, which is coordinating the collection.An added opportunity on Sept. 25, National Public Lands Day, will be a community litter pick-up event, organized by the Packwood Improvement …

Credit Cards Now Accepted in the Lewis County Permit Center Lewis County prides itself on keeping the customer's needs in sight. Requests to facilitate payment for permitting services with a credit card is now a reality! This recent change in process is another component of the Lewis County Process Improvement Initiative. Begining December 5, 2016, Lewis County Permit Center, which includes Community Development, Environmental Services and Public Works, officially launched Point & Pay. Know Your Soils Workshop
Know Your Soils: Attend this WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter workshop to learn how to test your soil. By knowing your soil type, you can make it better with compost. After registering, you will receive instructions on how to prepare a soil sample and what other materials you will need for the class. The registration deadline to attend the in-person class, and receive a free soil-test kit was Feb. 16. You may still be able to watch the workshop via Zoom.
