The event will take place from *10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (except where noted) at the Lewis County Area 7 Road Shop (Kiona), 8911 US Hwy 12, Randle, WA 98377.Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or left-over cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals. Please be prepared to leave your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events. The Construction and Special Programs Section is responsible for the following: Repair stream bank scour and erosion at bridges. Obtain regulatory agencies’ permits. Apply hydraulic techniques to stabilize and restore stream channels. Repair failed roadway prisms due to slides, sink holes, and waterway erosion. Coordinate repairs to river revetments by contractors and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Provide assistance as the Lewis County R.I.D. (Road Improvement District) Coordinator. The term "noxious" is a legal term, rather than botanical or technical. It is used to describe non-native plants that have been introduced to Washington from other parts of the world and have a damaging impact on the local industries that rely on having a healthy ecosystem and plant community, such as agriculture, etc. Because of their aggressive growth and lack of natural enemies in the state, these species can be highly destructive, competitive, or difficult to control.
