RCW 84.33Land owners who wish current use assessment for property tax purposes on lands eligible for classification under the Designated Forest Land program must submit an application to the Lewis County Assessor's Office by December 31st. Applications taken in the calendar year prior to December 31st are inspected in the next year and either approved or denied. If the application is approved, it is taxed in the subsequent year. The goal of the Tuberculosis Program is to stop the spread of tuberculosis. This is done through targeted testing, early diagnosis and treatment. What services are provided by the Health Department? We provide knowledgeable and compassionate case management to people diagnosed with tuberculosis that do not have insurance or a primary care provider.We conduct contact investigations to ensure that people who have been exposed to tuberculosis are offered appropriate screening.We provide consultation to health care providers in the community.Services are confidential.Cost is not a barrier for treatment.Interpreters are available upon request at no charge to the client. Passport Applications
The Lewis County Clerk's Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. Passport applications may be submitted, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday.We will attempt to process passport applications for everyone that comes into the office during the hours listed above, but the Clerk's statutory duties take precedence. Personal Property Personal property's primary characteristic is its mobility. It includes machinery, equipment and furniture associated with commercial, industrial or agricultural enterprises. Business inventories are exempt from property tax.Everyone who uses personal property in a business must complete a personal property affidavit by April 30 each year per RCW 84.40.185, RCW 84.40.190, and WAC 458-12-060. The affidavit must list the taxable property by category, as well as its cost and acquisition date. The assessor uses the affidavit to value personal property for taxes due the following year.
